EVENT: How will Microsoft Office 365’s new features impact your business?

We’re hosting sessions in three cities to help you prepare your modern workplace

If you had paid for a complete business software solution but weren’t aware of some of its most transformative features, you would probably want to know about them, right?

Businesses using Microsoft Office 365 software now have some major new modern workplace technologies right within reach, and we want to tell you how to make the most of them.

That’s why Calibre One, in partnership with Microsoft, Telstra, Poly and Fortinet will be hosting three free events across Adelaide, Alice Springs and Darwin in mid-October to demonstrate how businesses can unlock the power of their Office 365 applications and show off transformative new features that could have some serious upshots for your organisation.

Most businesses are taking advantage of Office base feature suite. These base features comprise tasks such as coordinating schedules and email with Outlook, Word for document authoring, spreadsheet development with Excel and PowerPoint slide deck creation, but there is far more that can be done with the system. There is a strong new set of tools that are poised to fundamentally change the way organisations communicate and do business that you should know about.

For example, over the past few years, Microsoft has been busy developing Teams, its complete communications suite that covers calling, messaging, video, conferencing and collaboration while being totally integrated with Office 365.

What is Microsoft Teams?

The Teams solution is now a viable option for organisations of any size to upgrade their communication experience, both internally and externally. Teams is already in use by half a million businesses and 10 million active users each day. It is shaping up to be the fastest-growing application Microsoft has ever released.

Teams can replace a traditional phone system or a PBX-based unified communication solution completely. Businesses are being drawn to it because unlike traditional PBX setups, Microsoft’s new solution is completely cloud hosted, so no additional hardware is required. All a team needs is a device and an internet connection.

Changing how your business communicates

Microsoft Teams changes how your business communicates internally and externally, but in unity with Office 365’s other applications, including SharePoint and OneDrive. Microsoft Teams also brings about fundamental changes to business operations.

Ask yourself the following:

  • How necessary is an email when an instant message is faster and less formal?
  • How often are documents in your business being duplicated when they get emailed from one party to another, instead of simply being worked on collaboratively in one secure location?
  • Shouldn’t important company files be centralised and accessible anywhere your staff work from?
  • Why take meetings on site when you can have key people video conference in from wherever they need to be?
  • Why should your phone systems be tied down to expensive hardware and software when they could just run off the internet?

These are questions businesses have been asking for quite some time, but truly compelling answers have been few and far between.

Why attend this event?

We want to show you how Microsoft’s innovations solve those challenges, and how easily they can be implemented in your existing Office 365 setup.

In addition to that, we’ll have Poly, Fortinet and Telstra coming along to talk about how their technologies are taking Office solutions in organisations to new heights. The focus will be around modern communication and conferencing devices, new networking solutions and cloud-based voice solutions controlled by Office 365 which provide access to the public telephone network.

The events will be a great networking opportunity to learn from other business leaders in your city, and how they are facing the challenges of modern workplace demands.

So, mark the event in your calendar and we look forward to seeing you at one of our events in October.
